An exquisitely detailed English needlework created by Jane Soper in 1735, an Elegy to Queen Anne. Although the beloved monarch had already been dead for 21 years, many English desired the restoration of the Stuart dynasty to the throne in order to regain religious freedom of choice. The once vibrant deep pink stitching has now faded to light tan, but the piece is fully intact and in otherwise excellent condition. Sight size is 18 1/4" x 15".
Price: $6900.

Map of England and Wales stitched by Sarah Harris in 1779 in Tottenham (near London). Stitching has retained much of it's original color. Some toning to background fabric. Original frame. This needlework is illustrated in Hubers' book, Guide to Sampler Values.
Price: $4500.

Elizabeth W. Dickinson's sampler made in Deerfield, MA, in 1815. Referred to as the "white dove school" because other examples share the same pair of white birds. Professionally conserved in old frame. Sight size is 17" x 14".
Price: $6000.

An unusual needlework of a Rhode Island Church anonymously made c. 1790-1800. The letters on the needlework do not spell anything out - no meaningful phrases. It is possible that the letters are a sort of code, perhaps the first letters in a series of words from a Bible verse. This is piece is listed in Hubers' Guide to Sampler Values.
Price: $2200.
